
The critics wanted the first Christians to go away, but the evidence that they were speaking the truth was difficult to deny. So was there change from fearful people to people of great courage! Today’s thought is based on Acts 4:13-22.

A piece of marble was selected to make a large statue. The Sculptor botched it up and the stone sat there for many years. In 1476 a second Sculptor started to work on the stone but backed out claiming it was not of sufficient quality. Twenty-five years later a 26-year-old took the stone and crafted the rock into one of the best know Sculptures in the world, the great statue of David by Michelangelo! Today’s thought is based on Acts 4:8-12.

When I was in graduate school, one of my teachers spoke about the communist takeover of China. They severely persecuted Christians to end their belief. They actually ignited a spark causing a great interest in Christ. The same thing happened in the early church. Today’s devotion is based on Acts 4:1-7.
